Worry never solved a problem! Many people journey through life worrying about problems instead of pursuing meaningful solutions. The key to effectively managing worry is active problem solving. Worrying about something out of our control is a pointless use of mental energy – so STOP!
Apply your thinking toward solutions this week and leave the worries behind.
Some strategies that will help in focusing your thinking toward solutions follows:
1. For every challenging problem this week ask yourself:
What exactly is the problem?
Is there a possible solution under my control? Have I reviewed every option?
If all possible options have been considered, have I let go of the problem? If I haven’t let go of the problem, why
2. List out all of the problems of concern. Review each problem by asking and answering the above questions.
3. How did your worrying help you in arriving at a solution to each problem?
4. What behaviors surrounding worrying are you going to change moving forward?
Focus on controlling your worries instead of allowing your worries controlling you!
